AVR Microcontroller Workshop, Parts I & II

July 14th: AVR Microcontroller Workshop, Part I (6:30pm to 9:00pm) – Free!

You, programming a microprocessor? Yes, my friend. We’ll show you the basics of programming using the AVR ATMega8 microprocessor in this painless, tears-free workshop. Not only that, but you will gain experience “breadboarding” – building prototype circuits. You will upload your self-developed program to the microprocessors to tell it what to do – the first step in harnessing the power of this pervasive technology.

July 21st: AVR Microcontroller Workshop, Part II (6:30pm to 9:00pm) – Free!

After learning a little programming and a little “breadboarding” in part I, you’ll be ready to move on to more advanced functions of your microprocessor. If you missed part I, we’ll catch you up!

Experience with basic electronics or C programming is great, but not at all required. All tools and hardware will be provided. All ages are welcome; children ages15 and younger should be accompanied by an adult. Participants may purchase the gear used in this workshop to take home for a nominal fee at the end of the second workshop. Spaces are limited, so please RSVP early!
