25¢ent Wunderkammer

Conceived of by TCR; executed by Brad Wicklund, Riva Jewell-Vitale and you.

The origins: The 25¢ent Wunderkammer consists of a hand-painted sign stating “25¢”, a revolving wire rack and a multitude of miniature items that are bagged, tagged and hung from the rack’s hooks. The sign was acquired at a yard sale in Bowling Green, IN for 25¢. How perfect. It carried with it an implied directive to have an area with items for purchase that cost 25 cents each. When Brad and Riva came for their residency with TCR, they lit the gunpowder and got the sucker up in the air. It is now a beloved component of visits to the TCR headquarters. It is a wire rack of wonders!

NOTICE: WE NEED YOU to keep your eyes open. Be the magpie. Help us gather a trove of the tiniest wonders: marbles, tinsel, parts of toys, teeth, coins, faux fur, flattened jewelry, etc. We will put them in tiny plastic bags and hang them from the rack’s hooks. We invite you to write a note about where you found it, what the circumstances were, what the weather was, what was going through your head, what this item reminds you of, or make something up… to add a story to the item. If you are a creative type, you might even superglue items together or add flourishes with paint. Leave any items you wish to donate in our mailbox. Thanks in advance!

Visitors to TCR may purchase one item and one item only for the mere cost of 25 cents.
